Commercial Partnerships Sounding Board summary of findings published
“Trust, honesty, and accountability in business relationships are crucial to foster innovation in the railway.”
That was the message from business leaders in the final session with our 2023/24 Commercial Partnerships Sounding Board cohort.
Representatives from the rail supply chain came together at Derby College last month, with Network Rail, Department for Transport, Innovate UK, Rail Forum, Rail Supply Group and Railway Industry Association to discuss:
- The essential ingredients that make an environment where innovation can thrive;
- How best to test new ways of working with the private sector, putting theory into practice.
As part of our commitment to transparent conversations, we’ve shared a wrap up of these sessions in a summary report: https://gbrtt.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Commercial-Partnerships-Sounding-Board-Summary-2-Cohort.pdf
Thank you to all 2023/24 Sounding Board members, observers and guests. We very much value your expertise, insight and commitment to helping us to foster more productive ways of working with the rail supply chain – creating an environment where innovation can thrive!
Ahead of the legislation needed to create Great British Railways, GBRTT continues to work with industry leaders to find opportunities to work better across organisational boundaries in ways that help improve rail’s financial sustainability and the customer experience.
Notes to editors
Since it became operational in 2023, the Sounding Board has provided the supply chain with a safe space to be heard, provide feedback and test initiatives. Now it is time to bring clients and suppliers together to discuss the efficiency agenda and promote new ways of working to reduce costs and make the most of the money spent on rail.
Sounding Board members are selected independently of GBRTT following an open call. The selection process ensures SMEs and larger businesses from track and train and diverse backgrounds are all represented.
