The Great British Rail Sale returns

  • The Great British Rail Sale runs from 23 January to 29 January.
  • 50% off train journeys across England and Wales between 30 January and 15 March.

The Great British Rail Sale returns on 23 January with loads of great value fares available across the country.

Off the back of our thorough evaluation of the first Great British Rail Sale in 2022, which showed the benefits of this cross-industry collaboration, we have once again worked alongside the Department for Transport (DfT), Rail Delivery Group and train operators to bring the second sale to life - recognising that value for money is a top priority for customers.

Suzanne Donnelly, Passenger Revenue Director at GBRTT, said:

"I’m delighted the rail industry has, once again, come together to deliver another huge round of savings on tickets for passengers.

"At GBRTT, we are focused on driving initiatives that will boost the number of rail journeys people make to reduce the cost of running the railway for taxpayers, whilst providing value for money for customers. The Great British Rail Sale is just one example of what can be achieved through a one railway, joined-up approach."

The Great British Rail Sale demonstrates the potential benefits of rail reform, in the here and now - providing value for money for passengers and cutting costs for taxpayers.

This more joined-up approach can unlock opportunity for strategic decision making and encourage more people to travel by train, as we create a simpler and better railway for everyone in Britain.
